A Head Start for the Future!

Ello mates! As you may or may not know, my future career choice is Gaming Graphics and Engineering, as in making video games! I've just downloaded this cool program called 3D Max's which I'm practicing with right now. I think this is a cool opportunity to move away from Photoshop and make some 3D pictures for you guys! Mind you I'll still make some Photoshop pictures for you, seeing as I barely know how to use this new program...

So far I'm learning all the controls but by the time the trial download expires I should at least have 1 piece of Wizard 101 art to show ya! Look forward to a big surprise... Yesh, that means you Friendly Necromancer! I shall learn to use this program!

Oh, shut up already...

Excuse me while I get my wand and dispose of a... Problem...

Wait, gah! What are you doing?! Get away from me you fool! Ahhhh...

- The Diary Page Ends There -

Meet Jinx...

Greetings and Salutations, fellow wizards! I believe it's time you met Jinx...

Jinx is my very own, one of a kind, minion! When I was but a wee little wizard boy learning how to summon dark sprites I came across a very evil and malicious warlock who has disguised himself as a raven in order to further his schemes... I had nowhere to run, I could barely summon a dark sprite, and I was young... I turned away and waved my wand at him viciously and desperately and in the flash of an instant I had made a Wraith appear before me... He attacked Jinx and defeated him, trapping him in his raven form and forcing him to work for me... I questioned him and asked him who he was.... He said, "Dear Child, I am Gizmo..." I wanted to know so much more about my savior but he turned around and opened a gateway... Before he left he said, "Do not fret dear Chase, for our paths will meet again. When you can defeat the mightiest of enemies and the most cunning of villains, I will be there by your side..." And with those words of inspiration he disappeared as quickly as he appeared...

Now as for Jinx, he was knocked out on the ground with his magic severely limited and really no way to fight me or take over the world for the time being... Rest assured, I am more than capable of defeating him with Gizmo by my side should he ever find a way to revert to his original form...

Jinx will now be taking a part in this blog family! From now on Jinx will be answering the many questions I keep getting. Jinx is very wise, evil mind you, but wise... If he can't answer the question you ask him, I highly doubt anybody else can... Except for KingsIsle of course but that's another story... Anyways, without further ado, here's Jinx!

Ask Jinx!

Hello Mortals... It is I, grandmaster of the Clemexia realm, instiller of fear, sovereign of all evil, Jinx... As the blundering fool who has his hold over me for the time being has said I am a dark and powerful Warlock beneath this most preposterous disguise... Unfortunately, when I was reverting back into my human form, Chase's soul partner came out and helped him in his time of need... The attack shattered my concentration and the link between my human form and this pitiful bird was lost... I swear, that I shall achieve revenge one day... I shall!

Get to the questions, Jinx!

Hmph, very well... This child has forced me to assist him in his duties by responding to all your pitiful e-mails...   The sooner we get this over, the sooner I may commence dusting the books...

Katie from New York Asks...

"The problem is my quest helper turned off all of a sudden and I have like no idea how to turn it on. Can you help me plz?"

Silly mortal! I laugh at thy pitiful question for it is no problem for a great and powerful warlock, such as I, to answer!

Jinx!

Right... Anyways, the answer to your question is quite simple. Open your spellbook however it is you do or simply press (Esc) and go to your options menu. At the top should be a lot of buttons with pictures on them. Click on the one with a joystick picture with should say "Game Options" Once there you should see that your Quest Helper is most likely in the off position. Simply switch it back to the on position and close your book. Now wasn't that easy?

Marvin from California Asks...

"I don't get something, are we supposed to finish Grizzleheim first or go on with the real storyline? I'm trying to decide what to do."

Well Marvin, the answer to your question is that it depends entirely on you. Grizzleheim is a parallel world to the game, meaning that as you level up in the main storyline more quests are unlocked in Grizzleheim. I suppose the true answer to your question would be to do both... When you reach the milestone for a new part of Grizzleheim I wouldn't hesitate to do it as you may obtain some very useful clothing that could help you even further in the storyline. If I were you however I would travel to Clemexia where my loyal guards have something special in store...

And finally...

David from California Asks...

"Ugh! I keep trying but I can't get Mallistaire robes! What the heck am I doing wrong?!"

That's not a very good question mortal... That's more of a rage or flame... However since it does have a question mark in it I'll answer it... You should keep trying, Mallistaire robes are a tricky thing, like the rest of the game getting the thing you want as a drop is very chancy at most. Some people get their Mallistaire robes the first time around, where as other people get it on their 50th time... It all depends... There is however a new feature... You can now pay a few coins for a second chance at any boss chest's rewards... However as that other blumbering oaf The Friendly Necromancer said, this gets really expensive... If you're not getting it by the time you hit 500 crowns then you need to just redo the instance and try the old fashioned way...

Now I've wasted enough time here... I have to go dust the books now... Sigh, I hate my life...

Alright then?...

Thanks to all the people who sent in questions, if your question didn't get answered here don't fret, I'll make Jinx answer them next time around... Thank you for joining us on our first ever "Ask Jinx!" edition! Be sure to send in your e-mails to Spidercliff@live.com and I'll pick them up and forward them to Jinx!

Two Days of Epicness!

Ah the sweet feeling of the wind blowing in your hair as your ride through the Spiral on a brand new horse!

The release has been live and I've been enjoying every single bit of it!

My first order of business was to get my mount... I originally had planned to get the Black Stallion mount as you can all tell. But Chase Silverbane is the most generous of my Wizards and he offered to buy the Chestnut Horse rather than the Stallion. This works out great in 2 ways!

The first way is that the Chestnut Pony is only 50,000 gold which I happened to have!

And the second way...

Is that the second oldest brother, Oran DawnWielder is a Balance Wizard decked out all in Brown! Now you tell me that Brown Horse with Brown Clothing doesn't match!

Following my mount purchase I decided to try it out by heading for MooShu and Marleybone to activate the teleport stones there!

After that was finished I was little disappointed to realize that to stitch my clothing was crown only and the same with henchmen... I really wouldn't mind if they multiplied the crown cost into gold because henchmen are really useful when soloing and stitching my clothes would have solved my problem with the Death and Balance Malliastaire robes... But life's life and since I have no crowns at all I'll have to settle for the good ol' fashioned way I'm used to! Taking the easy way reaps no rewards you know...

I remember once in DragonSpyre where there was a tower I had to complete to get my Drake Egg... And I have pretty much soloed the entire game up to then... So I went in confident as ever and began fighting my way through hordes of monsters... There was a point where I had 1 health point left and I narrowly won.

After about 20 floors I thought I made it to the boss and started to cry from all my hard work... And then when the minions started loading I saw they were a group of 3 in total... I went in because I was hoping that only 2 of them would go in but I was wrong... And that was my first ever 3 on 1 match! So as always good logic deems that you should get rid of the minions first since the more damage you're taking the worse... So I poisoned the minions until they died and then I was left with this boss of over a thousand health, probably over 2 thousand... And me having probably half my health left... But what can all Death wizards do that other schools envy?

DRAIN!

So I began to lay my traps and charms and weave my little web of pain until at last I was ready to attack... I had about 250 health left I attacked first and the boss had 5 pips. If I didn't make the shot I most likely lost unless she fizzled which was highly doubtful... So I crossed my fingers and attacked and wouldn't you know it, the attack didn't fizzle! And I smiled at the sight of my Wraith swallowing up her soul in one single gulp of 10,000 health, thereby fully healing me. I'm not sure if there were more monsters after that but one thing I know for a fact, is that I made it out of there alive and went on with the rest of my adventures...

So what has this painfully long story taught you? A hint I would probably be the poem by Robert Frost:

"Two roads diverged in the woods, and I
I took the one less traveled by.
And that has made all the difference..."

Basically that experience taught me everything I know about dueling today... When and how to place traps and blades... How much damage all my cards do and what how the percentages work... Everything and I mean everything... If I had had help in that tower I probably would have just relied on them to heal me back up when I got low and then what would I have learned? When in danger, wait for help?

Anyways, that my story and I''m sticking to it! Stay tuned as this following week we explore more of the new features and how they've changed from the test versions! Happy Exploring!

The Underdog Moves Up!

I was looking through my Facebook and then I saw a message from Wizard 101 saying that they just made it to 3rd place in the Top 10 MMOs!

Congrats KingsIsle you really deserve this, and when I hopefully apply for a job there in a few years, yep that's my career choice, you'll probably the #1 game out there...

You have to remember that KingsIsle isn't like Blizzard, it didn't start out with a ton of cash and support but rather started well off and small like an ordinary business!

I've seen a lot of they're behind the scenes videos and the offices look really moderate, nothing luxurious at all...
At the start probably not many people believed in them but now look at them! One of the TOP TEN...

Here's the official Facebook post!

Wizard101 MMORPG.com lists Wizard101 as #3 in their Top Ten List of MMOs since WoW and the number one kid's game! Check out the article!

Congratulations once more Wizard 101! I'm going to check and see if Wizard 101 has a new fountain The Commons! Happy Ranking!

In further news, scientists and psychologists have just announced that World of Warcraft causes people to lose their grip on reality and virtually speaking go crazy! Parents are advised to keep children away from WoW...

Reason Why People Look At Me Weird...

Whenever I hit a 5,000 shot at my enemies in Wizard 101, I'll always be tempted to say it was a weak shot... Which quite literally it is... To me anyways...

For me a normal shot is one where I try my best and have everything planned out before hand, like a good Death wizard always should...

For example, here's an ordinary hit for me:

Notice the 5 digit number... When you start hitting 5 digit number it kind of means you care about the quality of your work done well... And also, monsters such as Yeva here, feel honored to be defeated at the hands of 5 digit numbers...

So remember Wizards of the Spiral! And start hitting those 5 digit hits!

Happy Overkill!

Overhaul Challenge: Complete!

Ah, the sweet smell of victory... My site's officially been nicely overhauled... Took a bit of work, but what do you know? It looks pretty nice... The header problem was fixed thanks to a nice blog I found letting me know how to get rid of that horrible border problem...

The header itself has been changed...

Music's playing beautifully in the background...

And...

The counter's slowly about to reach 100! Like I said, hitting triple digits makes me feel a bit happier so... Make me feel happy people!

There's still a few tweaks and fixes I can make to give it that homey feel, but for now The Reneverian Hex lives again!

In an undead form that is...?

Ah yes, by the way I read Friendly's post about crowns and here's my friend code too, just in case ya know?

Happy Resurrections!

Overhauling Is Thwarting My Attempts at Another Success!

This overhaul isn't going so well now, I can't get my big computer to use Photoshop, I think I can use it later today though so that's good news...

Anyways...

The night before Melissa was helping me farm for my best Death items... But as soon as she arrived at Kraysys for the battle, father asked me to turn off the computer and go to sleep... Melissa said I should go and then entered the battle, but I thought every battle should count, so I entered the battle too and came up with a plan to finish the battle in less than 3 minutes...

Melissa on her Balance Wizard, Scarlet, was to use Full Judgement on Kraysys, where I would quickly dispose of the minion with a feint, blade, and Gizmo, my Wraith.

After we killed him I expected to find some cheap shoes on the side, but rather I noticed they were death... Thought they were just random death shoes, but then I noticed that they were untradable and so I laxly said to Melissa...

"Got them..."

Now the hunt begins for the rest of my items, I already have my Ring, just got the shoes, and I have the best pet... I need my hat from Yeva, my Robe from Mallistaire, my sword from Ivan, and my athame from Gurtok... Quite a bit to do, and I just realized I never finished killing spider to get to Yeva... Busy, busy, busy....

Happy Collecting!

Overhaul Part II

Well it's 4:09 here and that means it's time to continue with the overhaul of the site...

I've put a tracker on the bottom of the page so it eventually starts filling up, I'll just pretend it isn't there until it hits the triple digits!

I now have music running in the background!

And the next thing I need to work on is... This header... I'm thinking Black and Silver as always... But some oomph too... Nobody seems to get that my header is somebody staring at me through a crystal ball...

So, since my Photoshop skills HAVE improved, I'm going to develop an even better header and it's gonna be pretty big, I'm thinking maybe neon to match the counter... Then again I love blue, so I might make it blue... We'll see, we'll see...

Happy Renovating...

Success!

I'm really tired and wiped out right now... I think I used most of what little energy I have everyday figuring this out...

NOW, you may have noticed music playing by now... That music you are listening too, took me a while to implement xD Here's a tip for you guys who use Playlist.com for music, DO NOT USE THE BUTTON THAT SAYS ADD YOUR OWN, when you are adding gadgets...

Simply put in one of the gadgets that has this on in < > It's in the basics tab... And put in the code they give you... I have been trying for about an hour or so now and I finally figured it out just after trial and error I hope you all enjoy the music =P It's one of my favorite background tunes >_>

I have officially OVERHAULED this blog xD The next thing to go is that banner >_> It looks weird the way that border is... Make it look kinda cheap actually =P

Anyways...

MagiTunes, welcome to my Spiral...

Friendly's Present X_x

Now you're probably wondering why a present for Friendly... Truth is idk... I don't really have much to say anymore xD But yeah, maybe it's because we're both Death Grandmasters >_> I'm also in a nice gift giving mood lately since I got my HP Mini... To all of those other bloggers on Friendly's blog, keep on the lookout as I might randomly make something for ya... Long Unlive, the Death School! Oh, here's Friendly's present xD I'll send it to him =P Yes I know, the mount was inspiration but, that Black Horse just rocks!

*Friendly's present!

Riding A Heart Attack...

Ok so... I went over to Friendly's blog last night and nearly had a heart attack... The main reason is I saw 3 words that caught my attention... Mount, Test, and Open. X_x Anyways, as soon as I saw those 3 words I ran over to Aim to tell Melissa to get on the Test Realm but to be honest I went on without her. >_>

As soon as I logged in, after about 3 hours of loading all the worlds and data, I went straight for the shopping button! Sadly I couldn't get any more crowns or gold from Benjamin, maybe he'll come by later, but I bought my Permanent Black Stallion and got a Guardian Outfit. I didn't really care about my Guardian Outfit's stats, yet, and just summoned my newly bought horse and rode around like crazy for a while. If I remember right, my hand was shaking and I was a little bit dazzled at the horse when it neighed X_X... I love my horse... And it seems that it does in fact make you go 40% faster so that's a bonus ^_^

Anyways, I started thinking and the prices in gold are a little bit... Crazy? I sent them a comment that they should make the prices a little more reasonable, I think it's rare to find people with over 70k of GOLD on them, but I was thinking I might just take the Crowns approach... Anyways, after a fun while of jumping and riding I decided to start investigating some of the other features.

One of the cool features is being able to summon henchmen to your side in battle. It's a little bit like summoning a minion but they come in schools and levels, and are clearly smarter. I personally love the level 50 Balance henchman, mainly because if you have a balance person on your team the battle is almost in the bag. I'll show you a picture of how to summon a henchman in a few.

Melissa eventually did log in...

She however was using a different approach at mounts... Apparently the Bengal Tiger mount is exotic and rare while the Black Stallion is classic... - rolls eyes - Anyways, she got the Royal Outfit for girls, I'd never seen it before but wow... Why can't our Royal Outfit be that good? xD Anyways we started talking and then I was showing her some of the features, she was still loading everything though and she was very good at reminding me about it... =P After she loaded enough our mounts had a little play date and we started running around really with no reason but to run X_X I dragged her into the Tower of Archives in DragonSpyre and made her come into a battle with me. She didn't want to, because she likes being difficult but then again I do too xD But I eventually managed to drag her in.

After I showed her the Henchman for Balance, (her character is a level 50 Grandmaster Balance Wizard named Scarlet...), she said she would rather ride her mount and left me there with a henchman that doesn't really have logic... SO, I left ^_^

Earlier I had tried to do the Colossus Gauntlet of Woe but, as I was about to finish the first floor with 3 other strangers I crashed, I don't think they left though because they probably hired a Henchman to take my place xD I feel replaced <_>

Before I went to sleep I bought a 1 day rental of a Broom because I kinda liked how the brooms look... If brooms in this world could do what those could do I would be so happy... So yeah then I crashed from mental strain on excitement and shut off Wizard 101... And theeeeeeeen...

Daddy came in a brought me a Laptop out of nowhere... And so I nearly had another heart attack to the point a tear came out...

Audience: Awwwwwww...

But yeah that was my day of excitement... I'll probably be going for day #2 of excitement later today...

See you in the Spiral mates! Happy Mounting!

The Rebirth! No Not the Card...

Greetings and Salutations, my fellow paladins and necromancers, cryomancers and pyromancers, and all alike! There's a reason we love games like Wizard 101... Just when they're dying and it seems tedious to play, they rise up out of the ashes reborn with new content, [Fire Wizard reference ;)], and this is no different. Not only have we been graced with a beautiful birthday party but it's October! The month of spooks and creepy sounds... The month when the breeze from the windows follows you into your shirt and sends a cold slithering chill down you spine that makes you long for safety and a welcoming hug... But there's no hugs in horror movies, are there?...

ANYWAYS, as I mentioned is October, time for Hallow's Eve, better known to America and probably most of the world >_> as Halloween, OR better known to Wizards as Hallow e'en which I still don't understand but I've seen it many times before, donc I won't dispute it! So what's up in Wizard 101? Well the creepy Scarecrow brothers are in town as well as Spooky Bob. Spooky Bob is the mate in the Shopping District who is selling all sorts of wonder goodies for young wizards, including a most spectacular costume that makes you looks like The Cryptkeeper X_x... He's also got a wide arrangement of Jack O'Lantern masks from happy, to sad, to angry, to pirate! A few staves here and there and you've got it... But you should go check that out yourself, it's VERY laggy there so I do warn you... After all, what can be scarier than the most horrible, spine tingling, and bone crushing thing of all? LAG! Ehem... Back on topic...

The Spooky Brothers, I call them that, are a bunch of Scarecrows that have recently arrived in Wizard City. They're in town teaching Wizards of all kinds to celebrate the spirit of Hallow's Eve! If you want a good job to fit in with your costume... All of those high leveled Wizard out there can put on your Ghostbuster badge and start hunting down ghosts from the quests Jack Hallow in the commons gives you. Hungry for something good to eat? Well how about finding the Tubs of Apples and bobbing for some fruit, or trick or treating all around Wizard City with Jack O'Lanterns a plenty. Tis all here in Hallow's Eve!

Now for my main point... Most games, have a VERY difficult time with this subject, most choose to avoid it... But not Wizard 101, oh no, not where the magic lies! Wizard 101 has decided to directly approach the subject of MOUNTS! That's right, you're not deaf/blind/delirious! Wizard 101 has taken on the challenge of creating objects that Wizards can ride around their journeys into the spiral. From what I hear mounts might actually make us faster. Here's the official quote:

Announcing Mounts

The next major new content being developed for Wizard101 is a series of Wizard Mounts that provide a fun, fast, and stylish way of getting around. Many different types of Wizard Mounts will be available with more to come in the future. Initially, four will be introduced: Brooms, Horses, Cats, and Dragons!

Wow? I mean what does one say to this but wow? I don't think I've every participated in a game that has mounts. From YouTube videos I can tell that WoW has mounts but, I've never played the full game! Anyways, this is great news, I'm sure we'll have a ton of glitches but that's the same for every game... I can't wait for this release! BUT I don't MIND waiting... A release done good once is better than one done bad twice, n'est pas?

Well that's about all I have to say on the subject of Hallow's Eve (for now...) But I've gotta go back to working on Grizzleheim I'll write a few things more in a few more posts, mainly about me finishing Grizzleheim, since I'm about halfway through Ravenscar now and about my theory on whether Grizzleheim clothing beats Mallistaire clothing, mainly in looks and accessibility, by that I mean how hard or easy the robes are to get. And by looks I mean, I don't like the Death Robe for Mallistaire, I like the look of the Reaper's Raiment for I stick to that for now... Nothing more to say, only my soul can talk to your souls, maybe you know it's talking to your now maybe you don't... Happy Hauntings mates... Meheheheheh...
